7 Weeks on Substack + My NPR Tiny Desk Obsession + Job Board is Backkkk
News, updates, and whole bunch of links
I made it seven weeks. I mentioned this before, but this is literally the only creative thing my adult self has ever done consistently. Has it gotten easier? I think so. I used to sit here skressinggg out over what to write, what to say. The earlier stories took days to put together. I would literally make a calendar and try to plan what the content would be on here one, two, or three weeks out. That’s part of my magazine industry PTSD. It’s part of my corporate content PTSD. My first breakthrough in simply just writing was this piece on the death of Tina Turner (“Tina: Queen of the Exit Strategy”).
Now I just write whatever comes to mind. And, the way this earth is set up? There’s never anything to not talk about. Fortunately or unfortunately. However, I’m grateful for whenever words ‘flow’ because I know it’s not always gonna be like that. Anyway, I’m going to spend the rest of this month pushing some subscriber goals. I’m trying to end the month on some magic numbers ,and 10+ Paid and 100+ Free subs will get me there. Share! Upgrade! And, if you see me on TikTok being annoying, just ignore <3.
Also, I finally created an Instagram. Follow @culturework_ over there.
Appreciate you!
