Happy Black History Month to me and everyone who upgrades to a paid subscription after reading this because you love to support black women, black writers, and just blackness in general. I stared the week off with an invite to the premiere of National Geographic’s MLK/X, the fourth season of their Genius anthology series, and am ending the week with a forced 5 hour writing sprint. No phones, no couch. Just chair at desk, facing the wall, with tape over my computer clock, and my oven timer on loud. Wish me luck.
