A *teeny* bit of overdue karma rained down on the clock app this week, with credit due to creators Justin and Meredith for finallllyyyyyyyyyyyy getting the rest of the app to catch on to what we here on the culturework side of TikTok have been rolling our eyes at since December.
For Thursday Thoughts this week, let’s discuss a marketing flop and, uh, some other things:

I’ve worked in marketing — brand, content, digital, experiential, social — for over 15 years. In New York. In Los Angeles. At publishers. At agencies. For myself. In-house. Including the last few years with the best brand marketing and communication team in the world. I’m not particularly undercover on TikTok (friends, recruiters, and colleagues follow, and other people outside of that definitely lurk), but sometimes it’s just nice to have a space to ki-ki about flop hotels, and the detriments of white supremacy, and hikes I like.
On Substack I’ll be doing more expansive content, including topics related to career. Of course, I’ll still bring them to TikTok as well, just less frequently.
Forever grateful to my community there, the consultant work and clients who’ve found me there, and to the ones of y’all that keep sending me your resumes to review. It might take me a 4 months, but I’ll get to them.
