It’s been one of those weeks where my stoic millennial brow was on the verge of furrowing. That’s how bad it’s been. It’s like we waited all winter for Daylight Savings to break, and now that we only have a week left, I kinda wish we were back to 18 hours of darkness a day so we could just sleep through the WW3 newscycle.

sigh, culturework

I don’t and I won’t watch hockey, but as a girl from Eastern Pennsylvania, where big hockey men exist by the millions, I’d be lying if I didn’t say Heated Rivalry changed a few things for me.
New York Mag asks the most timely question of all….”Why Are So Many Women Losing Their Minds Over Gay Smut?”
  • I’m a proud fan of gay smut! (Vulture)

  • …#TheCottage Is On Airbnb, BTW (Airbnb)

  • I Really Feel Like This Is Gonna Be Mariah’s Year (Third Times A Charm) (THR)

  • Robert Carradine Dies By Suicide (Guardian)

  • We Now Have A Name For It … “Alpine Divorce” (Outside)

  • Paramount Gives Netflix $2B To Walk Away From Warner Deal (Variety)

  • Harry … We Know You’re Not Joking! (TT)

  • Scream 7 Blacklister/Director Kevin Williamson Is So Close To Getting The Point (Deadline)

  • Alabama Man Wins $221,000 On ‘The Traitors’ (AL)

(Hate to say that I’m loving the press tour: GQ, especially 🥵)

I did watch the final Traitors episode and I did watch the reunion and, as promised, I wont’ be writing about either of them! The show ended exactly as we knew it would: once all the Blacks and Browns were gone, and the last of the Asians were gone, and after finally clearing out the Gays, we’d be left with Rob, and one other White in deep denial.

Also, Lisa Rinna shared news this week that she was drugged at The Abbey. As a longtime Abbey lover liker, my secret to walking away with my phone unstolen and my body undrugged is to only drink Corona after the sun goes down. I could hear and watch the bartender open it, and I could keep the bottleneck plugged with a lime. Hate that it had to be that way, but, forget it Jake, it’s WeHo.

One of the few, if not only, times I’ve teared up pulling stories for this newsletter.

What happened to Nurul Amin Shah Alam was not a “dumping,” it was something very specific and very sinister.
