I’m off to NYC next week and feeling extra reflective. Today’s paid subscriber essay includes thoughts on my post-9/11 move to New York and how I’m still slowly discovering just how much of my 'normal' existed within a cocoon of community trauma that some are just only now learning how to crawl out of.
