NYFW Influencers v. Celebs + Agency Jobs + SNL Badmen + Diddy's "Generous" Era + RIP Airbnb in NYC + Creators Take On Danny Masterson
And a whole bunch of links.
Summer break is over!
For the first time in a looooong time, I’m paying attention to New York Fashion Week. Not because there is anything dynamic or new (why are we still trying to make Victoria’s Secret work?!), but because this feels like it might just be the true pivotal moment in fashion, culture, or entertainment where we’ll finally have an answer to “Influencers” or “Celebrities.”
The strike has had Hollywood famehoochies fighting for their lives, taking away their usual shameless self promo circuit. No shows to promote, no movies to talk about, no big moments for agents and publicists to broker magazine covers and talk show appearances and red carpets wardrobes for. Without Renaissance to look forward to, I don’t feel like many of them would’ve made it. 🙏🏾
I thought about doing a post on all the celebrities who showed up to Beyonce’s birthday show to make it about themselves, but then again, if you and your lil boyfriend have to plan your hard launch around Beyonce it just proves that Beyonce really is that girl.
Celebrity desperation is at an all time high and we haven’t even seen the worst of it. We’ll either see a whole new set of fake friendships form, or like, Julianne Moore pushing Alix Earle down the stairs.
Anyway, instead of a Leisurely Thing, we’ll dive into my favorite creator coverage surrounding the Danny Masterson verdict and the jaw-dropping letters of support from Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis.
Appreciate youuu. HAVE A LOVELY SATURDAY <3
The “September Surge” is here, I guess. Jobs from around my network, Agency edition.
